The Erie Road Residence reimagines a classic two-story Tudor bungalow through a comprehensive renovation that brings new clarity and cohesion to the home. The design necessitated a full gut renovation, refining the interior layout to improve function and introduce more natural light within the original brick structure. A contrasting 300-square-foot addition extends the living spaces into rear yard, framing views of the landscape beyond. Clad in stained cypress, the new volume introduces a warm material counterpoint to the historic masonry & Tudor forms. Generous glazing and carefully composed openings connect the addition to the landscape, drawing light deep into the home. The project balances preservation with thoughtful transformation, allowing old and new elements to work together seamlessly. The result is a renewed residence that feels both rooted in its neighborhood and thoughtfully evolved.
