THE SLATE

Client: SoLo Development  |  Cleveland, OH  |  Under Construction

Continuing the momentum of growth in the Gordon Square neighborhood, The Slate replaces of collection of low density industrial buildings with six residential structures containing 19-units of varying size and height depending on their location within the site. The shorter northern buildings, separated in two locations to create pedestrian paths to the three rear buildings, serve as framing mechanisms as they cantilever symmetrically over the right-of-ways. To further manipulate the building mass along the street facing facade the demising walls are recessed from the northern plane to create color-highlighted bevels at interior units. Vertically oriented lapped panels create a consistently monolithic visual character yet offer subtle plays on light and shadow over the course of the day.
