Throughout the design process it became clear that 25-unit condominium building’s prominent siting within Tremont, and the City in general, would demand a number of architectural responses to take full advantage of its unique attributes. From one perspective, it must fulfill the need of becoming a polite neighbor to its smaller scale, historic surroundings. From another, it must break from these limitations to open new possibilities and vantage points from which the City can be engaged and admired due to the expansive views of the City as one goes higher from this location. This duality is made whole and expressed through the contemporary integration of noble building materials, geometries, and landscape, while the manipulation of the public facing facades provides each unit a commanding line of sight to the skyline.
